There are extensive grounds and covered space for bikes, ideal for cyclists and walkers. The room was bright, modern and spotlessly clean. The cooking facilities are very good and there is a restaurant 15 mins walk away. The grounds are really nice and make for a relaxing break.

On Scotland’s far west coast, The Mission Bunkhouse in Mallaig offers simple hostel accommodation right opposite the train station and seconds from the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminal. A pretty fishing port in the Highlands, Mallaig has a supermarket, shops and places to eat right outside the building. I had a last minute booking and everything went smoothly. The owner is extremely nice and helpful and makes you feel very welcome. My single room was small but enough space and very clean and comfortable! The bathroom is also kept impeccable.
