We booked the St Vincent Guest House only two days before visiting as a last-minute break for one night with my wife and our dog. We hadn't looked at other reviews, so we arrived with an open mind. We actually arrived early, but the hosts were very accommodating and made us tea/coffee while we waited a few minutes for the room to be ready.
The garden out front is very pretty and dog-friendly, with a gated entrance and secure perimeter. The room was very nice with a four-poster bed. The mattress was very comfy, and the room was clean and welcoming with an en-suite.
The hosts gave lots of advice about where to eat that evening and also advice on a walk that we were going to undertake. We ate at the local Crown Inn and returned to the St Vincent Guest House early as we were tired from the walk. We both slept extremely well and woke early.
Breakfast was very good with choices of cereal, fruit compote, fresh juice, tea/coffee, etc., and a fully cooked breakfast catering for vegetarian/vegan, etc. They also asked if we wanted a sausage for the dog, which he was very pleased about. The hosts also talked about some of the history of the building, which was fascinating.
I'd definitely return and have already recommended the place to friends and family.

The breakfast was good. The view was very good as we could see the coast and south wales and close to the cliff railway that we had come to visit and use

Some nice quality independent shops & galleries. & a small cinema .
LYNTON could benefit from small scale music nights in venues & pubs.
Difficult terraine if not so mobile ,the hills are very very steep.!...and footpaths slippery when wet. Nice walks .
Valley of the Rocks & Coastal paths have exeptional.views .wandering goats & some tranquility.!....

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Rebecca who was warn , cheerful and friendly we were made to feel welcome immediately.
The hotel is tastefully decorated with fine furnishings. Our room was superb and with a sea view.
Prior to our arrival we had already had a three course lunch so unfortunately, we had no room to dine in the evening. Our breakfast was amazing and upon our check out we were able to speak to Steve. He was pleased with our comments and we ended up chatting about all sorts of things, that’s what we call friendly.
We will definitely be going back at some stage and would highly recommend the North Cliff Hotel

Good location for the many walks near by.
Good location for the many walks near by. Not many places to eat in the evening if you didn't want to drive any where. Lack of toilets for public use. You need to be quite fit to get the best out of Lynton as it is very hilly. People are friendly which was very good. I would recommend the Crown Hotel for food and good service.

We really enjoyed Lynton.
We really enjoyed Lynton. We walked from our hotel in Rockford and enjoyed a pint and great fish and chips on a quiet, out of season Sunday. I imagine it's a different proposition in the Summer, but we prefer places like this when it's a bit quieter.

Lynton/Lynmouth - vey nice area.
Lynton/Lynmouth - vey nice area. We hiked from Lynmouth up the hill - going right to pub 'the blue ball inn' - then on to Watersmeet - from there up the stream to Rockford Inn and then down to Lynmouth again.
Really nice walk!
Everything about our stay was perfect! Robert and Richard were so welcoming and friendly, they went over and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Attention to detail - second to none, there is no room for improvement left! The breakfast was amazing!
We highly recommend Highcliffe House to anyone visiting Lynton.
P.S. Thank you for a chocolate Easter bunny 😉
old fashioned Inn next to the river with access to some foot paths. The Inn has parking for cars. The bar area has lots of character and real fires. The Inn stock a couple of beers draft but everything else comes from bottles. All the beers are from the Exmoor brewery. The evening meals were nice when available. Our twin room was clean and tidy.
The hosts were super welcoming and accommodating. As a solo traveller, the guest house felt really homely and was perfectly located to explore North Devon. Parking was easy enough - if nothing directly outside of the property, the car park across the street is free in the evening after 6pm through until 10am.
Location was stunning facing the woodlands and with the sound of river Lyn / Lovely self contained flat, beautiful terrace, very well furnished, easy to walk to Lynton or Lynmouth. Bonus: they even had a bottle of wine for guests. Michelle and Lee are stunning hosts. Great holiday we had.
location is superb, easy access to the coast path and an easy drive to Exmoor. Breakfast was great, excellent quality. As a vegetarian who dislikes meat substitute products I often find problems when eating out, but not at Longmead House. The best breakfast I've had when away for years.
Hospitable hosts, well appointed spotlessly clean accommodation . Set in very peaceful location on the edge of Exmoor and about 12 minute drive to Lynton or Lynmouth. Varied walks in close proximity. Loved the spectacular starlit nights with no light pollution. Highly recommended
Ideal location, very comfortable room and a breakfast to relish.
Carol and Jos, made us feel very welcome and were very helpful and really good to chat with.
We will hopefully revisit Lynton and Lynmouth at some point, and Turret House.
We'll recommend to family and friends.
The location to the local area was spot on and the flat was a great size with ample space for the two of us to feel right at home. We were not expecting a great deal of life in the area but were pleasantly surprized at the wealth of shops available both in Linton and Lynmouth.
Great hotel, with attached bar and restaurant. Great location in Lynton close to the top of the cliff lift linking with Lynmouth. 10 minutes to Valley of the Rocks, and perfect for anyone walking the Southwest coastal Path. Good food and friendly staff.
Chris and Lesley model hosts. Very welcoming and attentive to our every need. Room was spotlessly clean. The property is nestled towards the end of a very quiet lane and perfectly situated for exploring the N. Devon coast.
We loved the location.a short walk along a tarmacked path into Lynton and for the intrepid a few steps from a great walk to Watersmeet. An absolute Gem National trust T Room on the river to break the round trip.
The location was perfect for our walking trips. Quiet and tranquil. The room and breakfast were excellent! The host was very helpful and told us about the ongoing activities and events in Lynton and Lynmouth.
The property was fabulous, clean fresh spacious and everything you could need or want. Great location to explore lynton lynmouth or the rest of Devon. Couldn’t have been happier! Even had a parking space!
Breakfast was excellent. Interesting experience navigating to the hotel but once there secure parking. I did not need to move car once arrived as could walk to where we wanted to go.
Great location, easy walk to the shops restaurants and parking. Very comfortable accommodation which was very well equipped. Nothing missing plenty to do in Lynton and Lynmouth.
The B &B was emaculate and well presented. The hosts were very helpful and professional. The house is well positioned to explore Lynton and Lynmouth and the surrounding area
