This trip was a birthday present for my daughter and on arrival we were surprised to be given an upgrade plus a bottle of prosecco was opened for us and a surprise birthday treat in the room. To me this was a lovely gesture and my daughter was delighted.

There is a lot of history to learn of particular interest to the British from the first settlement to the present day. To appreciate the city it is necessary to walk everywhere- over the peace bridge, along the road with the murals in Bogside, around the Guildhall, walk the city walls and visit museums etc. Plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Really friendly helpful people. Very easy city to navigate.
Really friendly helpful people. Very easy city to navigate. Highly recommend participating in a walking tour (around the walled area) of the city. Takes about an hour, but is really helpful (historically).
We had just an overnight & until the following early afternoon. Will definitely be returning!
Street parking close to No 9 is free of charge from 6pm until 9am, car parks close by to park in from 9am!

We went on a guided tour of city and it was really worthwhile and enlightening and gave us a feel of what the city has been through. Our accommodation was within walking distance a brilliant location . Exchange rate made things expensive. Definitely worth a visit and we will certainly return, easy to drive around.

Went mid-week over Valentines for 2 nights.
Went mid-week over Valentines for 2 nights. The towpath walk from the hotel (Waterfoot Hotel) to the Peace Bridge and town at around 45 mins was lovely (it was a dry morning) as was the bridge itself.
Loved Sandino's quirky cuban themed bar and also the Taphouse bar near the Guildhall (Music/Singer in the Taphouse from 9pm was great on a Thursday night).
Sooty Olive restaurant (Waterside) then Silver Street bar/restaurant (main town) are both good food places to have dinner & drinks - Silver Street being more economical. City Walls a great experience also.

I have travelled extensively with students over the years throughout Europe and I found the accommodation in 'Serendipity' in Derry to be better than most of the hotels that I have stayed in.
The food for breakfast was exceptional, in particular the bacon was the most 'tasty' that I have eaten recently.
The room was decorated to a very high standard, with soothing grey walls and great attention paid to the overall design and use of space.
The bathroom made excellent use of modern materials and was spotlessly clean.
We loved the central location, which was also very peaceful ensuring a great sleep. The staff are incredibly helpful and very welcoming and kind. Our room was comfortable, with a luxurious king size bed, lovely bathrobes, slippers and fluffy towels. We enjoyed a great pre-theatre dinner and excellent breakfast cooked to order. Shipquay Hotel is a great choice for travellers who want a central location with first class service. Highly recommended.
We completely LOVED this hotel! It was gorgeous and we had such an incredible room! The attention to detail was really lovely. We were both blown away again and again. The staff were also super nice and very attentive. They answered all of our questions and even gave us some ideas of what to do about parking since parking in the area can be incredibly difficult. We would love to stay here again.
The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. The location was the perfect home base for us, traveling in three directions from the roundabout located close to the hotel. Even though it is close to a very busy arterial road, it is quiet with no traffic noise that we could hear. Restaurant meals were delicious and well-priced and the service good.
The room was very nice and when we asked staff for a good restaurant, they recommended The Kesh, where we ended up going twice. They also gave us our own fridge when we asked for some space in theirs and warmed up some food for us. Close to border with Ireland. Wild Ireland park, Londonderry and Glenveagh National Park easily accessible.
Everything about this B&B is phenomenal! Eilish is a fantastic host, from arrival to recommendations to do in Derry. The house itself is massive with an amazing view of the city centre. The room was spacious and clean and the en suite has a shower with hotel amenities. We will definitely come back to stay with them again.
Very friendly and helpful male receptionist. Comfortable quiet room. Buffet breakfast was OK nothing amazing. Staff very nice with prompt service. Within few mins drive of city centre. Took taxi to and from local restaurant. Fantastic trad hotel bar with open fire for late drinks.
Having underground parking was a real plus. The hotel is just next to the old city wall which made for an easy stroll down to the museum. If we'd had more energy we could've even walk down to see the Free Derry murals. The hill was a bit steep for us so we drove down.
Location is very central and easily walkable to centre (<5 mins). Parking was free and available but might not always be as carpark is small. We did not have breakfast in the hotel even though it as included and there are plenty of nice places to eat neraby.
Lovely hotel and very nice room, excellent leisure and spa facilities,as well as an extraordinary bar and restaurant. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Location just outside city centre, 10/15 minutes in a taxi.
The hotel is brand new, clean and modern. Both rooms and beds are large and comfortable, and the onsite spa is a lovely added bonus. A great location if you don't mind a short walk to the city centre.
Lovely hotel just on the outskirts of Londonderry. Bed was very comfortable and the seating in the lounge was great. Breakfast was ok but buffet style so not freshly made. Fine for a couple of nights.
The staff where lovely, the breakfast was really nice, rooms where really big and comfortable and a good value for money, hotel was really close to the city centre would definitely stay again
