Loved the location of this hotel as it was near to all the places we wanted to visit. Near to the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, Muncaster Castle, Wastwater and Scafell Pike, and St Bees. The owners and staff were all amazing . They gave us such a warm welcome and looked after us from start to finish. The food was excellent.. Lovely garden with a river , just wish it had been warm enough to sit out. Very pleasant walk behind the hotel too.
Located in Seascale, Cumbrian Lodge features a garden, and free WiFi throughout the property. Private parking can be arranged free of charges. At the hotel, all rooms are fitted with a wardrobe.

A nice friendly little town with good views over to the Isle of Man or inland to the Cumbrian fells. Good railway links, although I didn't use them this time. Interesting proximity to the Atomic. Nice church and friendly community.

Seascale is a stunning seaside location, has a beautiful tranquil beach. Has the best place to get ice cream from at Mawson's honestly yummy.
People there are friendly and welcoming, it's got outstanding countryside you have eskdale, wastwater, ennendale, ravenglass on your door step.
Since it's out of the national park they are hardly any tourists so a lot quieter.

The Co-op local is the only general store with limited choices. The bakery only opens for a short period but is highly rated and helpful staff. There is also a Chinese takeaway which is decent and busy. There is also a pizza/burger bar. There is and icecream parlour at the Bailey lodge which I am told really good.
There are a few good pubs that do meals in the Gosforth area just 2 mile from Seascale and on the routes to Eskdale and Wastdale. Such as the pub at Santon bridge and Kellbeck hotel.
I would say if you are intending to visit that area then Seascale is only suitable for short stays.

As a town/village it was a one (or two) horse place with little to no real amenities for tourists...unless you like unpopulated beaches ! Only eatery was the Chinese takeaway...and a Co-op shop!
You would have to drive to St Bees for any other beach options (cafe), but similar beach..large car park and views, plus hill walking!
Good pubs in Gosforth but not much else!
Egremont was nearest point of civilisation. aprox (6 miles).
Beautiful views! Exceptionally clean and the bed was really comfortable. Loreta was the perfect host, informative and welcoming. We could come and go as we pleased without feeling like we were intruding.
Our room was everything we needed for our weekend stay, Seascale for us was the perfect place to stay to explore the surrounding areas. There isn't much there but we knew this already and it was just what we were looking for. Very peaceful.
Roseta, the owner, is a wonderful hostess. She is so accommodating.
Due to it being off-season, I was offered a room upgrade (at no extra cost), which was wonderful. I was given a sea view room, which was extremely comfortable.
The whole building smells nice.... I know it sounds weird, but, go and stay there, then you'll understand......
Trust me, the "Westcliff" is a little gem in Seascale.
The location of the hotel right on the seafront was lovely. There’s a large car park with Tesla charging points. The rooms were more traditional looking but there was enough room and the beds were comfy. The staff were all very pleasant. The dinner there was delicious really tasty and very good sized portions. I had the steak which came with chips, coleslaw, salad and onion rings.
Nice and quiet, liked that the bar/restaurant was separated by a glass door, this kept noise downstairs and the bedrooms quiet. Fab beer garden, lots of places to sit.
Hotel doesn’t open till 3 but booking.com says 2pm, may need to update this, but they were nice enough to let us in early.
Twin beds requested, double bedded room supplied. Bed type request is not clear enough on Booking.com system, had not been noticed by hotel. Problem solved by providing us another room at no extra cost. I was impressed by this response.
Michelle is very friendly and helpful. the food in the resturant is very nice as well. can cycle to Wast water which is very beautiful and the A road not far from the hotel has a 14% steep climb which is fun! Will stay again in Autumn.
Location fantastic, staff were incredibly friendly, breakfast was great and this hotel had probably the best kitted out tea and coffee facilities I’ve ever experienced - think I counted 6 - 8 coffee sachets and milk
The hotel was clean and conveniently located for our trip to Lake District. We made our base here and travelled easily to Washdale for Scafell Pike hike, Buttermere, Seascale, Whitehaven, and Windermere.
The Cumbrian lodge was extremely clean and friendly.
The restaurant had a good menu that was value for money, it is some place I would recommend and we’ll be back for another visit .
Great find in the lovely Seascale. Very large room with a sea view - was great having the window open and hearing the sea! Check in process was very straightforward.
Stunning views of the sea, lovely location and easy reach of places to eat.
