Location was helpful for us as we were walking the GR131 route. Also the staff were great as we wanted to leave very early and would miss the breakfast so they made us a packed breakfast/lunch late that night. Very kind!

Nice friendly hosts who met us upon arrival and showed us around. Lovely traditional Canarian property with authentic features. Clean and comfortable, we particularly enjoyed the log fire! Right in the centre of town where there are some really good restaurants including the one next door. A good base for hiking/sightseeing locally and in Teide National Park.

A large, comfortable, and clean property. Nice beds and plenty of storage. The location in the village of Vilaflor was good, with several shops, bars and restaurants all in close proximity. Generally peaceful, but (see what I didn't like).

The location was lovely - half way up El Teide with adjacent pine forests for walking and easy access to the National Park. The village has several good restaurants although they tend to close early. The accommodation is very basic and most rooms have poor facilities - best for a one or perhaps two night stay.
For birders: easy to see canary, blue chaffinch and Berthelot's pipit

Vilaflor is a lovely small high mountain village situated on a steep hillside having several options for accommodation. It appears to be on the main bus route from the coast up into the volcanic caldera of Mount Teide National Park. There are several shops to get supplies. There are a number of restaurants which we found seemed to cater mainly for day travellers, most seemed to close early in the evening giving limited options. There are a small number of friendly bar/cafes, again opening times did not seem to correspond with online opening times, although this may be seasonal. The village is ideal for walkers and cyclists or relaxing, but definitely not a party type destination. It may also cause issues for those with some mobility limitations. Although there are buses and taxis available ideally we would recommend having a hire car to enable travel at most convenient times and for access to the higher mountain areas. We found that all parking areas are free at point of access, but early or late arrival is wise as the parking fills up very quickly. There is a relatively new information centre and museum at the Parador de Canadas Del Teide which has good clean toilets and currently supply a free map of all the local walking trails. For those who wish to remain in the vicinity of Vilaflor itself there are a large number of local walking/cycling trails available

You have to remember that Vilaflor is an active working town at 1500m altitude with extensive agricultural terraces, and only a nod towards tourism. The streets are narrow and many are steep. Most shops and facilities are centered on the lower entrance to the town from the TF51 bypass, but the two lovely churches and tourist restaurants are at the top end of town.

Vilaflor is a lovely little place, a great base to explore the mountains and local trails in the area. It's clean and the people all seemed really friendly. I would advise having transport.
Although Tenerife is pretty good for vegans / vegatarians, Vilaflor is not so progressive. However, the local restaurants all made their best efforts to accommodate when they understood what was being asked for.

Vilaflor is a nice village and it is very close to the national park and this is the reason why we have chosen to stay there. There are many cafes and we loved 'Los cipreses de la casa inglesa' a nice restaurant at the top of the village.
There are also nice walks from the village and if you want to go to the seaside it is only 30 minutes in the car.
- Great host and beautiful view from balcony :)
- Spacious room. The big "+" is the kitchen with all you need, including microwave oven and a fridge
- Electric heater for colder nights
- No problem to park rented car in front of the gate
- Vilaflor is a quiet town located ~1500m above ocean level
- It is the perfect location for people who wants to explore hike trails near Teide (20-30min by car) and are less interested in lazy sunbatching on a beach
- In the town there is a fuel station
We (9 Belgian 60+) stayed for 5 nights in Casa Tajinaste. Catalina is a very kind and helpful host, Vilaflor is a quite place in the centre of Tenerife, not too much affected by tourism, excellent to visit the rest of the island, and it has some good restaurants in the neighbourhood. And the house itself is great, it combines modern luxury with medieval style. Each of the 6 double rooms has its own bathroom. Thus: absolutely recommended (unless you prefer Playa de Americas, Ibiza, etc.).
I stopped over at Hotel Rural for a couple of hours to get catch some sleep while on a photo assignment. I haven't met anyone in person, checkin was done via Booking.com chat. The room was tidy and had two small bottles of water waiting. Bathroom was shared for the three top floor rooms, I was the only patron so quasi private. Tapwater is fine too. I parked my car on a public lot a couple of meters down the road. Overall an easy experience.
We liked the typical Canarian old building. The room 8 was super cosy and beds vere very comfy. Perfect pillows and duvets. The externaal bathroom was ok. The breakfast was good, not much selection but it was enough and a very good coffee.
English ladies who take care of the hotel vere very very nice. We must appreciate a living room where you can prepare a cup of tea or buy some beverage from the fridge.
Although not within the older post of Vilaflor, the villa is well situated at the edge of town. It is spacious, well appointed and clean. The owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with his WhatsApp, despite our visiting during the week between Xmas and New Year.
Amazing spa facilities! Lovely decor and relaxing vibe in all parts of the hotel. Great shower pressure and nice shower gel. Wonderful and ample breakfast with a range of options; a good time window from 7:40-10:30. Kind and helpful staff. Tranquil location.
This charming little hotel was a wonderful base to explore the Teide area. The included breakfast was fantastic and the on-site restaurant for dinner was also excellent. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
El Sombrerito is filled with all kinds of vintage tools and equipment, ranging from film projector used in cinemas to mechanical scales and agriculture tools. Great dinner. Accomodation pretty basic, but more then enough for hikers. Really cosy atmosphere.
We were running a little late on our bikes to reach the apartment but the host communicated well and stayed until we arrived, and was super friendly. Spacious and clean apartment with great terrace and views. Safe space in the garage for our bikes.
A great out of the way location, property owners are really nice & helpful. Internet speed is around 500MB, so, very good. Old oil drum BBQ was great. There is hot water on demand available via Calor gas, with a spare bottle if you run out!
Nice central hotel in Vilaflor, rooms availale for a very fair price. As other people mentioned, when you arrive after dark there is nobody around initially, but the owner is always to be found and the reservations system works well
Near bus stop and restaurants. Hotel has a decent restaurant. Breakfast is coffee and bread with butter and jam. Owner took my heavy suitcase up the stairs; no elevator. No heat in the room but owner gave me a space heater.
Perfect little hotel in Vilaflor. Small clean room, very accommodating host if you have specific requests. Breakfast fills you up before heading out for a hike.
Restaurant serves nice typical Canarian dishes in the evening.
Great location and view from the balcony. Host provided lots of useful information before arrival and helped us out when we were there. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable stay. Vilaflor is a lovely town.
It was spacious, very clean, quiet, lots of facilities in the house and nearby, but particularly lots of personality and character. Very hospitable host who lighted candles for our arrival.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place itself was very quiet and peaceful. The room was spacious and comfortable. I would definitely recommend Ziggy's.
The staff was very friendly and helpfull. The service and quality of food in the restaurant was extra good. Many space to rest in shadow. The rooms were very big.
