The weather was dry so good start. Plenty of shops to look in, plenty cafes and excellent pubs. Skipton towpath next to canal is a lovely walk as well as Skipton woods by the river. Very dog friendly place. We ate at the Railway pub, excellent food. Also they are canal boat tours, and you can hire the boats for a day or longer. Skipton Castle is a great place if you like history really recommend going Skipton has a lot to offer.

There is nothing to dislike about Skipton, it is a pretty market town, lots of boutique type shops, lovely wine bars & coffee shops & welcoming pubs. Everywhere we went we received a warm & friendly welcome. The places we ate were cosy and good value for money (Woolley Sheep) and romantic and special (Le Bistro)

The hotel was a gem of a find. When booking we didn't know what to expect but it was excellent, from arrival to leaving. Extremely clean and the host was very friendly, informative, and assisted us with our needs. The room was immaculate and had everything we needed included. Parking at the rear, which was off the main road. The breakfast was amazing and had a great level of choice. If we ever need a place to stay in Skipton, we will definitely check the availability of Dalesgate Lodge first. I would highly recommend staying here.

Fab central location just off main high street, opposite short stay carpark, just over pedestrian footbridge bottom of the bus station is the long stay carpark. Unicorn can give you a free parking permit. Rooms are clean & spacious, breakfast is served in your room, you are given a nice menu choice and it was really tasty. Windows are double glazed so a nice quiet nights sleep, ample charging adapters either side of bed was a nice touch.

The location of this property was excellent, right on the canal. and 5 min walk into town. It was all clean and nice as we were the first people to stay here since refurbishment. Stairs a bit hairy to loft bedroom, but if you dont need the bathroom during the night you will be ok. Lots of little extras left by owner, tea, coffee, milk ect. Much appreciated. Very quiet relaxing property.

One of the best small country hotels we have ever stayed in. Good location, on a main road a few miles outside Skipton, with ample parking. Hotel is a pub that has been recently completely renovated, it has a lovely restaurant that also serves breakfasts, food is excellent. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Ideal location - near the centre of Skipton and up some steps at the side of the hotel straight onto the Leeds Liverpool canal tow path. Lovely breakfast , but staff not as helpful as could have been in explaining breakfast routine. Bedroom good , with fan provided - much appreciated in the hot weather.
