The location upon Gloucester is stunning, the Staff attentive and polite, the rooms should be renovated. There are a lot of things to repair. Despite it, we would come back at any time.

We liked the old town which was very pretty but not pretentious. A bit run down in places but lots of new developments too, eg the Gloucester Docks. Lots of independent pubs and restaurants, not overpriced. Friendly people. Lots of history. Everything really close to centre and quiet for a city (except for the seagulls)!

Beautiful cathedral which is what we came to see.
Beautiful cathedral which is what we came to see. Good transport links to other towns - Worcester and Tewkesbury. Docks area is attractive with restaurants, bars etc. and the area around the cathedral has some nice shops, tea rooms etc.

It’s very easy to reach Gloucester from the hotel especially if you like shopping at the Gloucester Quays. Found it very handy to get to Stroud and Painswick as well and the M5 motorway.
I personally wouldn’t use the bistro pub for meals at the Gloucester quays- the high orchard. Microwave meals with the wrong prices still in the menus and bar staff manager who couldn’t give a toss.
Cheltenham is nice to eat in if you fancy a day out and lots of dog friendly places too.

We wanted lots of choice of food and night time entertainment . Although the food we had was good in the main it was the usual branded restaurants. Night time bar entertainment very limited. Not very much high octane adventure to be had here. Won’t be rushing back

Yes gloucester is a nice area.
Yes gloucester is a nice area. But I would avoid staying at the new Inn, the management isn't fit for purpose. I've bren in other places with better management and more customer awareness. Management highly sensitive, room needs refurbishment. Just remember if you do stay there avoid saying something management doesn't like at the new inn, or you end up with a wooden bed, no shower or mattress. They get your money and you get free accommodation from his majesties police force. Don't waste your money, there is better accommodation in the area. Otherwise the area has great views, canal walks, and walks in general. And other stuff going on for it. It's a gorgeous place

Interesting city.
Interesting city. Walks available, along canal, and nature reserve. Cathedral, old buildings, museums ETC to visit. Docks area great for drinking & dining. Small enough to reach everything on foot.
First of all, a big thank you to Dee, the property manager, who was really helpful, immediately responsive and very accommodating to our requests - she made an enormous difference to our stay.
The apartment was better than we had imagined - spacious, very clean, well-equipped and ideally located for Gloucester city centre, just a few minutes walk from the Quays and Docks and the local park.
If we go back to Gloucester, this will definitely be our first choice of places to stay and, hopefully, Dee will still be managing it!.
The reception staff was wonderful and extremely helpful. Beds were comfortable and showers were great. Rooms were clean and two out of our three rooms were very spacious. We received an upgrade when arriving late at night after our Airbnb had been cancelled and we had to find emergency accommodation. This was extremely appreciated! Everybody was very friendly and the hotel is located right in the centre of Gloucester. Parking is available in the city council parking just around the corner for only a few pounds.
Lovely clean room and convenient location to where we wanted to visit. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was at the front of the hotel so if the window was open it was alittle noisy due to being next to a main busy road but when it was closed we didn't hear anything. Aircon in the room was fab. Considering we paid a cheap price for the room it was much better than I expected. We had a comfortable stay and would come again if we visited Gloucester another time.
This hotel is fabulous, the grounds are stunning. Although too far to walk in to town to Gloucester but still nice walks around hotel. Our room was beautiful. The bed was massive and extremely comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, couldn't ask more from them. We ate in the restaurant, service was quick and food good. The hotel itself is very clean, well decorated with decor. Amazing value for money. We will visit again without doubt.
When I arrived at the hotel no one was there to check us in. the lights were off and the doors were locked. When I reached out they said they closed on the day o book but I had been in contact with the property about checkin and accommodation for an infant. they never mentioned it until it was too late. I was left stranded with a 3 month old baby out in the cold and the property has been ignoring me ever since.
Freshly cooked evening meal on arrival and breakfasts were very good, although choice was limited.
Hotel is handy for visiting Gloucester cathedral and docks, as well for the forest of Dean for hiking and cycling.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
It's possible to walk into Gloucester via the riverside paths, just under 2 miles
Room was better than I expected with a very good shower and the added bonus of having a fridge and microwave along with cutlery, crockery and glasses. Location was very close to Gloucester station and the amenities of the town.
Staff were lovely and very helpful, would certainly come back to this hotel again.
We drove there to a dirty grimy parky lot with homelss people yelling out. The hotel didn't look like a good part of town.. They had no parking for their guests. We would have had to drive down the street to another party lot. We did not feel safe there and left, Lost our money and stay at a Travel Lodge.
Staff and cleanliness excellent. Breakfast very good too. Good pub/restaurant next door to hotel and another great place to eat within 10min walk. Very close to Gloucester Quays for shopping so location good all round. The price was really good and I would definitely use Holiday Inn again.
The owner was very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasant, and provided everything we needed (& more!) Hotel is perfectly located to explore Gloucester and next to the Docks and restaurants. Very comfortable beds also. We’ll definitely be back!
Charmain was an excellent host during our stay; a genuine girl of Gloucester. The health club staff were helpful and the folks on the bar very responsive when there were lots of thirsty customers! Great Value Hotel with Great Staff!
The New Inn is in a very good location right in the centre of the city, a short walk away from the shops and Gloucester Quays and Kingsholm Rugby ground. The hotel was nice and clean and the staff were nice and friendly.
The superior room was great. Big size, clean and we had a great view. The hotel looks great from the outside, and the garden is lovely. Breakfast was worth it, with a big selection of foods. Would definitely recommend!
This was a comfortable hotel with very welcoming staff on reception. Location was great so we were able to rest and continue our journey refreshed after the inclusive breakfast. Hotel offered everything we needed.
The hotel and spa is immaculate. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout. Our room was calm and cosy and had everything we needed. The location was perfect for a trip to either Cheltenham or Gloucester.
Breakfast was excellent, dinner meals excellent, room was large and comfortable, very clean. Love the old building and pub. I would recommend you stay here if looking around Gloucestershire area.
Beds, linen and towels all new, and a good smart tv that connected to on-demand services (when the wifi worked). Hotel felt secure and room (at far end of building) was quiet.
The hotel is nice, bed is comfortable. Room is homely. Staff was really nice and helpful. There's an Indian place named Spice House near by which is absolutely fantastic.
