Brockenhurst was a great location for us as we were visiting Beaulieu motor museum. We wished we had stayed for longer as we would have had time to explore more like some of the beautiful walks. On our way to the motor museum we drove through the national park the scenery was lovely. We had evening meal at The Filly Inn the food was excellent.

Can get very busy and crowded during peak holiday periods.

Can get very busy and crowded during peak holiday periods. Best times to enjoy the New Forest are probably early Spring or Autumn. Parking a car or larger vehicle can be very frustrating at peak times and electric charge points are very limited in public access areas.

Brockenhurst is only a small forest village but it has lots of fantastic pubs and even a hotel.with a spa. It's central for visiting the new forest and the train station makes a day trip to Bournemouth car free! Lots of walking on the doorstep, period houses, ponies and donkeys walking about and a great bakery for picnics .

    Beautiful place to stay.

Beautiful place to stay. Would recommend staying or visiting. The snakecatcher was a great place to eat along with the local curry house. There was plenty of places to get your food shop done and the people of Brokenhurst are so friendly. Where else can you go shopping and bump into donkeys!

House was in perfect position just by local shop. Very clean and had everything we needed. Wasn’t sure how washing machine worked but as stay was short wasn’t used. Perhaps instructions would help. But thanks to host it was all perfect. Would recommend

The location couldn't have been better. Right in the heart of the New Forest with animals on the doorstep. Very well equipped cottage and a lovely little private garden. The bottles of wine on arrival were a lovely welcome as was the basket of biscuits and tea/coffee/hot chocolate. The gate through to the hotel car park was very handy for going into the hotel to use the spa. We would recommend a meal at Beresford, the restaurant in Balmer Lawn hotel, the food and service were fabulous.

This house was massive, so many rooms & so much space. We stayed in the Delux Apartment & it was like home away from home. There was a living area with a TV & Tea Making facilities. There were 2 big double bedrooms, a bathroom & an extra stand alone toilet. John was so accommodating, friendly & would do anything he could to make your stay more comfortable. The breakfast was amazing with so much selection, freshly cooked full breakfast, gorgeous.

We are regular guests are the Cottage Lodge hotel and as usual the service is top notch, the room incredibly well appointed and breakfast a true delight! No other hotels in the region beat the Cottage Lodge Hotel. The staff is always friendly, rooms very cleaned, and we love the fact that sustainable and local products are being used. We will be back soon to our favourite getaway.

The owners were really friendly always on hand to help, everything about our stay was top draw, couldn't fault anything. Would recommend to any couples of any age as an ideal gateway to the New Forest. We had a great last meal at Enzee, recommended to us by Ciaran!

Attractive pub in central Brockenhurst so ideal location for exploring the New Forest. The rooms were what appeared to be old stables (I could be completely wrong here), surrounding a courtyard garden. Comfortable and clean with good facilities. The breakfast room, bar and spacious pub garden were a couple of minutes walk from the rooms.

The breakfast was tasty and there was a lot of choice. The receptionist made us feel very welcome. The bar area is impressive with lots on offer. The decor throughout the hotel is beautiful. It is very well situated in the heart of the new forest. One day we saw wild donkeys outside the window of the bar which was pretty cool!

The boutique room exceeded our expectations, the isolated rooms with own entrance and super high vaulted ceiling and the decor made us feel in our own house rather than a hotel room. The pub serves excellent food and Brockenhurst is perfectly located to explore New Forest.
